Jon Christensen had a long career associated with the German record company ECM with several different bands and was important for the development of several distinctive sounds there. One of this year's big releases is the extremely atmospheric and exciting album Bayou, which is the debut album of a Norwegian trio consisting of the brilliant musicians Ayumi Tanaka (piano (, Marthe Lea (saxophone etc.) and Thomas Strønen (drums))., meditative and exploratory.
